Guided tours of Sea Girt Lighthouse are conducted on Sundays from 2-4 p.m. through November 18, except holiday weekends. Explore every room – the keeper’s office through the living quarters and up to the top of the tower. Exhibits present the history of the lighthouse and the keepers and later Coast Guardsmen who operated the landmark. The roles of women and children are well documented. Bygone Sea Girt is recalled in photos. There are photos and artifacts from the Morro Castle – the cruise ship that burned offshore in 1934, prompting a heroic rescue. Tours are free; donations are appreciated. Please note there will be no tours on these Sundays: May 13 (Mother’s Day), May 27 (Memorial Day weekend), June 17 (Father’s Day), July 1 (Independence Day weekend), September 2 (Labor Day weekend) and October 7 (Columbus Day weekend)
