Sea Girt Elementary School nurtures creativity and imagination while empowering our students with the knowledge, skills, and values needed to think critically, respect themselves and others, and to achieve their highest potential as life-long learners.
Sea Girt Light House
Guided tours of Sea Girt Lighthouse are conducted Sundays 2-4 p.m. through November 18, except holiday weekends. Explore every room – the keeper’s office through the living quarters and up to the top of the tower. Exhibits present the history of the lighthouse and the keepers and later Coast Guardsmen who operated the landmark. The roles of women and children are well documented. Bygone Sea Girt is recalled in photos. There are photos and artifacts from the Morro Castle – the cruise ship that burned offshore in 1934, prompting a heroic rescue. Tours are free; donations appreciated. Please note there will be no tours on these Sundays: May 13 (Mother’s Day), May 27 (Memorial Day weekend), June 17 (Father’s Day), July 1 (Independence Day weekend), September 2 (Labor Day weekend) and October 7 (Columbus Day weekend).
