I’m Cori Dunphy with RE/MAX CENTRAL and welcome to another week of videos all about Real Estate, Monmouth County, and of course my hometown of Marlboro Township.

This week I’m here to spotlight one of my very favorite places in Monmouth County, Marlboro, NJ.  I’m going to share with you what life is really like here in Marlboro, NJ. I mean who better to ask than a Marlboro Resident herself!  And yes, I’m a little bias because I really do LOVE living and working here.  So don’t say I didn’t warn you!  So here are a few of my reasons that I think people Love living in Marlboro Township.

#1

Let’s get started with the basics.  Location.  Where is Marlboro Township NJ?

Marlboro Township, NJ

Marlboro New Jersey is located within Monmouth County.  And it has approximately 40,000 residents.  Marlboro borders Matawan, Freehold, Manalapan, Holmdel, and Colts Neck Townships.

Within Marlboro Township there is a section called Morganville.  This often confuses people, especially home buyers. Morganville is part of Marlboro Township.  The difference?  It has its own post office, therefore, has its own zip code.  Marlboro is 07746 and Morganville is 07751.  All schools are in the Marlboro School district, and I”ll discuss that in a little bit.

The central location within New Jersey gives Marlboro residents easy access to so many wonderful places.  For example, it’s only about a 25-minute drive from some of the most incredible beaches in New Jersey and It offers easy access to Staten Island, Brooklyn, and New York City.  You can be in New York Penn Station in just under an hour by train.

For those people looking to leave busy city life, they often fall in love with this area.  After this video is done, you may want to take a peek at this video I made about Leaving the Big Apple and heading to Monmouth County.

There are many Marlboro Residents who still commute to New York City for work, and all of our residents that relocated from Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, and the Bronx, like to be able to head back to spend time with family and friends.

So let’s jump to the big one.  Marlboro NJ real estate and cost of living.

Well, I’m not going to lie.  It’s not inexpensive to live in Marlboro Township UNLESS of course, you are coming from New York.

Marlboro is made up of many different neighborhoods.  The majority of them are single-family homes.  There are however a few communities of Townhouses and Condos and there are also a few adult communities here as well.  I do talk about the adult communities in this other video.

So here you can find anything from a townhouse to a single-family home.  Right now the average single-family home is in the mid $500,000’s but the majority of homes on the market today are in the range from the mid $600,000’s to the lower $800,000’s.  That is usually a 4 – 5 bedroom home, anywhere from 3,000 sq feet up and many of these homes have at least a 2 car garage a finished basement and many of them also have park-like yards with gorgeous inground pools.

Townhouses start in the $300,000’s and the prices go all the way up.

Marlboro does have its share of homes in the million-dollar-plus range, so if that’s what you are looking for, you can find that here as well!

Most of the homes within Marlboro Township are going to offer you public utilities.  And this is true in the Marlboro and Morganville Sections  But always check before purchasing a home because there are a few scattered areas within the 07746 and 07751 zip codes that are septic and well.  That’s something you are going to want to be aware of before starting your search.

Let’s talk about the schools.

Marlboro Memorial Middle School

I always suggest that everyone looking to make a move, no matter where you are going do your own research on the school systems.  But I can tell you, I am a HUGE fan of the schools here in Marlboro Township.  There are 5 elementary schools, 2 Middle Schools, and 1 High School that is part of the Freehold Regional School District.

Now let’s be honest, everyone is going to have their own opinions on, well just about everything.  And here in Marlboro, NJ it’s no different.  I’m convinced you will find people who are NEVER happy, accept if they are complaining.  Complaining seems to make people happy.

So I’m going to speak for myself and my family when it comes to education.  We moved to Marlboro for the schools.  Period end of story.   10 years later, we still feel it was the best decision we could have made.  Education is a big deal for us, especially being married to an educator.  Every school district has its share of things you may not agree with.  But overall, the Marlboro School District was exactly what we had hoped it would be.

So what do we do out here living in Marlboro Township? I mean is there anything to do there? There is so much to do here in Marlboro and the surrounding areas.  Don’t forget Marlboro is close to some other wonderful towns.  You can head to  Red Bank or Downtown Freehold.    You have the convenience of the beaches.  You have the incredible Monmouth County Park System.   Right here in Marlboro, You can pick up the  Henry Hudson Trail.   Which is a 24-mile paved trail,  or head over to Big Brook Park located on 520.  Check out the Marlboro rec center, which offers plenty of activities both in the summer and winter seasons.  I do have a video coming out all about the Rec Center and what it offers, so keep an eye out for that video.

When it comes to shopping and dining, there’s no shortage here either.   You can find just about anything either here in Marlboro or Nearby.

These are just a few reasons that Make Marlboro such a wonderful place to live, work, and play.  Honestly, I could go on and on about why I think the area is so wonderful, but I think it’s best if you come to explore for yourself.
