The Marlboro Township Department of Recreation offers a variety of activities for people of all interests, ages, and abilities living here in Marlboro Township.  Let’s talk about it!

If we haven’t met yet, my name is Cori and I specialize in helping people relocate into and out of Marlboro Township and all of Monmouth County.  So if that sounds like you,  today is your lucky day, you found your new favorite channel!

So let’s get to it.  The Marlboro Recreation Center……..

The Marlboro Township Recreation Center is located off Wyncrest Road, next to the town’s municipal buildings.  The Department of Recreation offers a variety of different activities for the residents of Marlboro Township!

You can Enjoy the  Swim Club and Summer Camps during the summer, access to many parks and facilities, and there are year-round activities including classes, concerts, sports, and events.  Be sure to register for the Marlboro E-Bulletin to stay up to date with everything going on.  I’ll leave a link for you to register in the description box.  

There are also some really wonderful events here in town.  One of the most popular is Marlboro Day!  Vendors from all around Marlboro along with our first responders take over the recreation center.  There is music and food, fun and rides.  It really is a great day and happens in September.

So let’s talk about our youth programs 

I am going to give you some general information and I’ll leave you links to all the town flyers and signups so you can check it all out after the video.

There is an outdoor fall basketball league.  This league is open to Marlboro residents in grades 2 – 12

6 games plus playoffs. This league is for Marlboro residents in grades 2-12. The games will start on September 25th. See Fall Rec Basketball 2021 Flyer

There is also a Kids Fit Class.  These classes are run by Marla a Marlboro resident, and this 6-week program is open to residents and nonresidents ages 5 – 10

 6 week program from 4:30pm-5:30pm on Monday 9/13, 9/20, 9/27, 10/4, 10/18 and 10/25. 

A fun, safe, and exciting environment where fitness becomes fun, not work! The program teaches form, endurance, teamwork, and confidence. Come have fun jumping, running, and using your body weight for exercise. Please bring a towel, mat, and water. The class will be held outside at the Recreation Center. Next up is Kidz Art & Teen Art

This 6-week program is open to residents and nonresidents ages 7 and up.  Remember I will be leaving links in the description box so you can read all about the programs and register

 6 week programs for ages 7-11 at 4:30pm-5:30pm and ages 12-18 at 5:45pm-6:45pm on Tuesday 9/21, 9/28, 10/5, 10/12, 10/19 and 10/26. KidzArt is a fun and unique art experience. Today’s world requires creative thinking skills. KidzArt encourages problem-solving, creative thinking, and self-confidence using an exclusive method for teaching drawing. KidzArt curriculum meets or exceeds the National Standards for Art Education. Youth Tennis Clinics.

This program is available for Marlboro and non-Marlboro residents ages 5 – 10 and is held in conjunction with Centercourt club and sport

 5 week program for ages 5-10 at either 3:00pm -4:30pm or 4:40pm-6:10pm on Sunday 9/19, 9/26, 10/3, 10/10 and10/17. In conjunction with Centercourt Club & Sport – Marlboro, tennis lessons for beginners to intermediate players will be offered at the Marlboro Swim Club tennis courts. Senior Community

When it comes to our Senior community there are many activities here in town geared to the older crowd.  There are tours, shows, exercise classes, health screenings, and social services. There really is a class or an event for everyone who wants to get involved.  Marlboro offers:

  • Yoga
  • Strength Training
  • Art Classes

PARKS WITHIN MARLBORO TOWNSHIP

Marlboro Country Park – Marlboro Swim Club – Gordons Corner Road at Masepe Trail

This park consists of eight lighted tennis courts, four lighted handball courts, a softball field facility reconstructed, regraded, and re-sodded in 2015. The Marlboro Municipal Swim Club (membership required) has four pools, two playgrounds, two basketball courts, one sand volleyball court, and a gaga pit.

Hawkins Road Park — accessible from Hawkins Road and Millay Road

A neighborhood park with two tennis courts, two basketball courts, two tot lots, a walking path, and swings.

Falson Park – Falson Lane 

A local park consists of a newly resurfaced tennis court, a playground with tables, a walking path, and a swing set.

Wicker Place Park – Texas Road

A neighborhood park consisting of one basketball court, two tot lots that accommodate two distinct age groups, and a swing section.

Marlboro Crossings Park – Serpentine Drive

Located in the development behind the Whole Foods shopping center, this park includes two tot lot areas, swings, and a seating area.

Marlin Estates Park – East Francis Avenue A neighborhood park consisting of one tot lot and one softball field. The basketball and tennis courts have been resurfaced, color coated, and restriped, which has included the recent addition of two pickleball courts.

Nolan Road Park – Lloyd and Nolan Roads, This park includes a softball field and a pathway leading to a tot lot. Two tennis courts have been renovated and lined to include both pickleball and tennis. 

Municipal Park Complex – Lotta Burke Drive & Township Drive  

This complex contains one turf field lined for soccer, football, and boys’ lacrosse and a grass softball and baseball field. All fields on-site are lighted with the exception of one soccer field. The park also features two tot lots, shuffleboard courts, a walking path, and a renovated rotunda building with restrooms and vending machines.

Robertsville Elementary School – Menzel Lane

Features two newly-renovated tennis courts both lined for both tennis and pickleball.

Recreation Way Park – Community Center, Wyncrest Road

The community center complex consists of three basketball courts (light schedule), an outdoor hockey rink, a tot lot area, two bocce courts located adjacent to a second tot lot. Our outdoor amphitheater plays host a summer concert series and other events that are free to the public.

Union Hill Recreation Complex — Union Hill Road

This park is located between Cambridge Square and a residential neighborhood and contains two lighted softball fields, a tot lot, and a walking path. Both ball fields were re-sodded and regraded. Outdoor AED installed.

Vanderburg Sports Complex – Vanderburg Road A large complex consisting of six soccer fields, a tot lot, a swing set, a gaga pit, a metal picnic shelter, and a basketball court. The Aquatic Center pool, used for our recreation summer camp, is located within the complex and contains a sand volleyball court, shade structures, two slides, spray features, and a zero-entry pool.

Woodcliff Park – Woodcliff Blvd

A neighborhood park consisting of two tot lots, a walking path, and a basketball court.

H&L Soccer Fields – Wyncrest Road (behind the Marlboro Middle School) 

This park contains two lighted turf soccer fields, one of which is lined for girls’ lacrosse. The first field was installed in 2012 and the second field was installed in 2018. There is also a walking path and one grass playing field.
