First up is Rooney’s Oceanfront Restaurant. Locate right along the shore in Long Branch, this is a spot in Monmouth County you do NOT want to miss. Rooney’s is like a little slice of heaven right by the sea. You get these fantastic ocean views that make you feel like you’re on vacation even if you’re simply stopping in for lunch. The seafood here is fresh, and they’ve got a great variety. I can’t get enough of their crab cakes. They’re crispy on the outside and packed with flavor inside. And their lobster bisque? It’s rich, creamy, and bursting with chunks of succulent lobster meat. Plus, the atmosphere is just so relaxing. Whether you’re sitting outside with the sea breeze or cozy inside, it’s always a good time at Rooney’s. They often have live music on the weekends, adding to the vibrant yet laid-back vibe. It’s a perfect spot for a romantic date or a fun family outing.

Next on the list of great seafood restaurants in Monmouth County is Cuzin’s Seafood & Clam Bar. You might remember this one from my newsletter when it was our restaurant of the week. Cuzin’s has this cool vibe– lively and fun, perfect for a night out with friends or family. Their menu is packed with so many delicious options it’s almost overwhelming (in the best way). Their lobster roll is a game-changer. It’s stuffed with juicy, tender lobster meat, and the seasoning is spot on. And don’t even get me started on their clam chowder – it’s creamy, savory, and just what you need on a cool evening. Their raw bar is also top-notch, featuring a selection of fresh oysters, clams, and shrimp that are sure to please any seafood lover. The portions are generous, and the quality is consistently excellent, making it a must-visit spot.

On the Deck is another gem you’ve got to check out. As the name suggests, it’s all about dining with a view. The vibe here is super laid-back and perfect for a casual meal. They have this amazing seafood platter that’s perfect for sharing – or not if you’re feeling extra hungry! The shrimp, oysters, and clams are always so fresh. And they make fantastic cocktails that pair perfectly with seafood. Their signature drink, the “Deck Margarita,” is a refreshing companion to their seafood dishes. It’s the kind of place where you can sit back, relax, and just enjoy the good life. They often have live bands playing, which adds to the fun and casual atmosphere.

Now, let’s talk about Point Lobster Co. This place is a bit of a local legend in Monmouth County. It’s been around forever, and they know their stuff when it comes to seafood. The best part? You can grab fresh lobster to cook at home or let them do the hard work and enjoy a delicious lobster roll right there. It’s the perfect spot if you’re in the mood for something quick but oh-so-delicious. Plus, there’s something charming about the whole place – it’s unpretentious and all about the quality of the food. They also offer a variety of other seafood delights like shrimp, scallops, and clam strips, all prepared to perfection.

Last but not least is Santo Ceviche. This place is a bit different from the others, but it’s an absolute must-visit. If you’re a fan of ceviche, you’re going to fall in love with this spot. They serve up the most vibrant, fresh ceviche with flavors that just pop. The fish is always perfectly marinated, and the combination of citrus, spices, and herbs is just incredible. It’s a smaller spot, but it’s got this great, cozy feel to it. Plus, the people there are super friendly and passionate about what they do, which makes the whole experience even better. They offer a variety of ceviche styles, from the classic Peruvian to the spicy Mexican, each one a delightful explosion of flavors.
